FDR-X3000 : Connect your smartphone to your camera

For Android smartphones

  • Connecting by Wi-Fi Using NFC
    1. : Select MENU →  →  → .
    2. : Select the shooting mode ( ⁄  ⁄  ⁄  ).
    3. : Activate the NFC function on the smartphone.
    4. : Touch the smartphone to the [N] mark on the camera.
  • Connecting by QR Code
    1. : Select MENU →  →  → .
    2. : Select the shooting mode ( ⁄  ⁄  ⁄  ).
    3. : Launch PlayMemories Mobile on the smartphone.
    4. : Select [Scan QR Code of the Camera]. Then, read the QR code attached to the back of the camera's battery cover with the smartphone (first time only).
  • Connecting by Wi-Fi Using an SSID and Password
    1. : Select MENU →  →  → .
    2. : Select the shooting mode ( ⁄  ⁄  ⁄  ).
    3. : Launch PlayMemories Mobile on the smartphone.
    4. : Select the SSID (DIRECT-xxxx: xxxx) for the camera. This is attached to the back of the camera's battery cover.
    5. : Input the password attached to the back of the battery cover on the camera into the smartphone (first time only).
  • Bluetooth

    The camera can be powered on and off from a smartphone by connecting the camera and the smartphone via Bluetooth.

    1. : Select MENU →  →  → .
    2. : Select MENU →  →  → .
    3. Connect the camera and the smartphone using Wi-Fi (first time only).
    4. : Select [Camera Remote Power ON/OFF] from the PlayMemories Mobile menu.
    5. : When a message prompting you to allow the pairing appears on the screen, allow it (first time only).
    6. : Press the REC/ENTER button on the camera to complete the pairing (first time only).
  • Multi Camera Control

    You can connect up to 5 cameras simultaneously to perform shooting.
    You must use a smartphone equipped with a tethering function.

For iPhone/iPad

  • Connecting by Wi-Fi Using NFC

    This connection method is only available for the iPhone 7 or later models, that have iOS version 11.0 or higher.

    1. : Select MENU →  →  → .
    2. : Select the shooting mode ( ⁄  ⁄  ⁄  ).
    3. : Launch PlayMemories Mobile on the smartphone. Then, select [Scan NFC/QR Code of the Camera] → [Scan NFC of the Camera].
    4. : Touch the smartphone to the [N] mark on the camera.
    5. : Install the profile following the instructions shown on the smartphone (first time only).
    6. : Select [Settings] on the "Home" screen → [Wi-Fi] → the SSID for the camera (attached to the back of the battery cover).
  • Connecting by QR Code
    1. : Select MENU →  →  → .
    2. : Select the shooting mode ( ⁄  ⁄  ⁄  ).
    3. : Launch PlayMemories Mobile on the smartphone.
    4. : Select [Scan QR Code of the Camera]. Then, read the QR code attached to the back of the camera's battery cover with the smartphone (first time only).
    5. : Install the profile following the instructions shown on the smartphone (first time only).
    6. : Select [Settings] on the "Home" screen → [Wi-Fi] → the SSID for the camera (attached to the back of the battery cover).
    7. : Return to the "Home" screen and launch PlayMemories Mobile.
  • Connecting by Wi-Fi Using an SSID and Password
    1. : Select MENU →  →  → .
    2. : Select the shooting mode ( ⁄  ⁄  ⁄  ).
    3. : Select [Settings] on the "Home" screen → [Wi-Fi] → the SSID for the camera (attached to the back of the battery cover).
    4. : Input the password attached to the back of the battery cover on the camera into the smartphone (first time only).
    5. : Return to the "Home" screen and launch PlayMemories Mobile.
  • Bluetooth
