Notice to Owners of Overseas model of Digital Still Cameras

Thank you for your support and patronage of Sony and Sony products.

In October 2005 we issued a notice offering an extension of the free of charge repair service for certain products that incorporated Sony-manufactured image sensor devices. There was a possibility that these products would display the following symptoms when used in camera mode; image would not appear in the product's finder or LCD panel; it was not possible to take pictures or the captured image was distorted.

We have now confirmed that in addition to the digital still camera models covered by the last announcement, 8 further models listed bellow may display the same symptoms mainly in regions where there are climate conditions of high temperature and humidity. We are therefore announcing the addition of models which may receive the extended free of charge repair service.

We apologize for the inconvenience this causes customers. Sony continues to strive to improve its quality standards to the maximum extent possible.

    For products which exhibit the symptoms detailed above, caused by the relevant image sensor devices, Sony will extend free repair service. Therefore customers who have the covered models and who are experiencing these symptoms and customers who have previously repaired for such symptoms should contact the call center below:
