We have started providing the latest firmware Ver.05, which includes the improvements announced on this page, on Dec 15th, 2011.

Sony is offering a firmware upgrade for Interchangeable Lens Digital Camera "NEX-3 (JE)","NEX-5(JE)".
Please read all the information described below and follow the download procedure carefully to avoid any problems which may occur during the firmware upgrade.

[Target of upgrade]
The units with the firmware version "Ver.01" and "Ver.02"
(Please see the download page for how to check the firmware version.)
* This upgrade program also includes the upgrade program (Ver.02) for 3D Sweep Panorama, which was released on July 1, 2010.

[Additional feautures / improvements]

Addition of the function to customize soft keys.
Addition of the [Menu start] function.
Improvement of the operability of the [MF Assist] function.
Improvement of the operability of menu item selection.
Maintaining the aperture setting in the movie recording mode.

Support for the autofocus function with A-mount lenses.

* Firmware upgrade of the Mount Adaptor LA-EA1 (sold separately) is also required.

* With an A-mount lens attached, the autofocus speed will be slower than when an E-mount lens is attached. (It takes approximately 2 to 7 seconds (based on Sony's measurement standard). It may vary depending on the subjects or brightness of the shooting environments.)
