[ January 14, 2005 ] Sony has recently learned that a limited number of its digital high definition camcorder HDR-FX1/FX1E may exhibit the following condition. When the audio mode of the HDR-FX1/FX1E camcorder is switched to the 16 bit setting (in DV mode), and the unit is then turned off, software used in such camcorder causes the unit to reset to the default 12 bit setting, though the LCD indicator will display the 16 bit audio setting.       To remedy this situation, Sony offers software update at our service centers to owners of the affected units; a limited warranty for the HDR-FX1/FX1E camcorder also remains in effect.
