Setup procedure

Windows

  1. Click the “Download” button and place the downloaded file in an arbitrary folder.

  2. Double-click the file.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen and install the application.

After installing the application, restart the computer.

  • Icons for Imaging Edge Webcam (Windows version) are not displayed in the Start menu or on the desktop. When using a livestream or web conferencing service, [Sony Camera (Imaging Edge)] is added to the camera settings options.

Mac

  1. Click the “Download” button and place the downloaded file in an arbitrary folder.

  2. Double-click the downloaded IEW120_2403a.dmg file to open it. Then double-click the IEW_INST.pkg file in the folder that appears.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen and install the application.
  4. If macOS displays a dialog box with the message “System Extension Blocked,” perform the following steps.

    * The actual message differs depending on the version of macOS.

    macOS 13 and later

    Click [Open System Settings] to open Privacy & Security.

    When Privacy & Security is displayed, click [Allow].
    You will need to enter your password, so enter the password used to log in as an administrator, and click [Modify Settings].
    If you do not see the Allow button, scroll down until it is visible.

    • You can also open System Settings by selecting Apple menu → [System Settings]. Then select [Privacy & Security] in the sidebar of System Settings.

    macOS 12 (12.3 and later)

    Click [Open Security Preferences] to open the macOS Security & Privacy window.

    In the Security & Privacy window, click the [General] tab.
    First, click the lock icon in the bottom left corner of the window to unlock it. You will need to enter your password, so enter the password used to log in as an administrator, and click [Unlock].
    When Privacy & Security is displayed, click [Allow].

    • You can also open Security & Privacy by selecting Apple menu → [System Preferences] → [Security & Privacy].

After installing the application, restart the computer.

  • After installing Imaging Edge Webcam (Mac version), [Sony Camera (Imaging Edge)] is added to the camera settings options when using a livestream or web conferencing service.
  • It is not necessary to launch the app from the “Applications” folder in order to use Imaging Edge Webcam. Launching the app allows you to check the version number and access the FAQ on the website.
  • To uninstall the Mac version, open the downloaded IEW120_2403a.dmg file and double-click Uninstall in the folder that appears.
