To use network functions, the PlayStation®3 needs to be connected to the Internet.
The devices and network settings described below are required in order to connect the PlayStation®3 to the Internet. Thoroughly read and understand the instruction manuals for the PlayStation®3 and other devices to ensure proper use.
The "TERMS OF SERVICE AND USER AGREEMENT" applies to the use of network functions.
A Sony Entertainment Network account is required in order to use network functions. For details about accounts and PlayStation®Network, go to the PlayStation®3 XMB™ (XrossMediaBar) and select [Network] > [Online Instruction Manuals], or refer to the "PlayStation®3 User's Guide".
To use the network functions, an Internet connection such as an ADSL, CATV Internet or FTTH line that supports the network functions of the PlayStation®3 is required. You must have a contract with an Internet service provider in order to connect to the Internet.
A network device such as an ADSL modem or wireless LAN access point is required, as well as the cables that connect the device.
A personal computer may be required in order to set up the network device. For details about the settings and how to configure them, refer to the instruction manual included with the network device you are using.
An account is required in order to upload images or movies to each online service. For details on how to join and use these services, and information on rules and regulations, visit the following Web sites.
