1-2. Connecting Action Cam to a smartphone

When using an Android device via Wi-Fi

  • The screen design may be different depending on your smartphone/tablet.
  • From the second time, you can skip the steps 2 to 4; only the step 1 is necessary.
Step 1
Start PlayMemories Mobile.
Step 2
When [License agreement] is displayed, read it and select [Agree] if you agree the license.
Step 3
Select the Action Cam.
Step 4
Enter the password provided in a sticker on the instruction manual, and select [OK].
  • The password for HDR-AZ1 is provided in a sticker (SSID label) attached on the back of the battery cover.
  • Enter the upper case and lower case letters exactly.
Note: If you lost the manual, you can find your ID/password by the procedures below.

Connect the Action Cam and the computer with the USB cable.
2.
Turn on the Action Cam.
3.
Select [Computer] → [PMHOME] → [INFO] → [WIFI_INF.TXT] on the computer.

When using an Android device via NFC one-touch

  • The one-touch functions cannot be used if your smartphone/tablet is in sleep mode or screen locking. Cancel them before use.
  • The screen design may be different depending on your smartphone/tablet.
Step 1
Turn on [NFC] on the smartphone.
  • The procedures are different depending on the smartphone (e.g. [Settings] → [Wireless & networks] → [NFC]). Refer to the manual for your smartphone.
Step 2
Touch (N mark) on the Action Cam with (N mark) on the smartphone for one or two seconds until PlayMemories Mobile starts.
  • If PlayMemories Mobile does not start, shorten the distance between both N marks, change the position of the smartphone by sliding or rotating it, or separate the devices for more than 10 seconds and try again.

When using an iPhone/iPad

  • The screen design may be different depending on your smartphone/tablet.
  • From the second time, you can skip the step 2; only the steps 1 and 3 are necessary.
Step 1
On the smartphone, select [Settings] → [Wi-Fi] → [DIRECT-xxxx HDR-xxx].
Step 2
In the [Enter Password] display, enter the password provided in a sticker on the instruction manual.
  • The password for HDR-AZ1 is provided in a sticker (SSID label) attached on the back of the battery cover.
  • Enter the upper case and lower case letters exactly.
Note: If you lost the manual, you can find your ID/password by the procedures below.
