Automatically set a rating (ranking)
[TIPS] Useful tips when playing back images
Automatically setting a rating for the first image of a scene (images shot with single shooting and the first shot of continuous shooting, etc.) makes it easier to find the first image of a scene, not only during playback on the camera, but also after the images have been transferred to a computer, etc.
This section explains how to set rating (one star mark) to the first image of a scene, and rating (two star marks) to the first image taken after pressing the shutter button fully during pre-capture.
Setting procedures
Select MENU → (Shooting) → [Shooting Option] → [Selection/Memo Shot] → set [Rating ()] to [Top Image], and set [Rating ()] to [Pre-Capture Shutter Rel].
Ratings automatically set to the first image of a scene
Normal shooting:
The following images will be set to a rating of (one star mark).
- Single shooting
- The first image of continuous shooting
- The first shot of bracketing shooting
- The first shot of interval shooting
Pre-capture:
The following images will be set to a rating of (one star mark).
- The first image retroactively recorded at the specified number of seconds during pre-capture
The following images will be set to a rating of (two star marks).
- The first image of continuous shooting taken after the shutter button is fully pressed during pre-capture
Continuous shooting speed boost:
The following images will be set to a rating of (one star mark).
- The first image of continuous shooting
- The first image of continuous shooting speed boost
- The first image of continuous shooting taken after continuous shooting speed boost has ended
Notes
- When using “single shooting” only, if the rating is automatically set to the first image of a scene, the rating will be set to all images. It is recommended to use it according to your shooting style.
Jumping between rated images
The dial can be used during playback to jump between rated images.
Jumping between images with (one star mark) and (two star marks) ratings
Setting procedures
Select MENU → (Playback) → [Playback Option] → [Image Jump Setting] → select desired dial, then set to [Rating Only].
Jumping between images with a (one star mark) rating
Setting procedures
Select MENU → (Playback) → [Playback Option] → [Image Jump Setting] → select desired dial, then set to [Rating Only ()].
Hint
- You can insert a separator image before the first image of continuous shooting, instead of using a rating. This makes it easier to find separators between shots when searching for images on a computer. Set [Top Image] to [Divider Frame ()].
