Assigning desired functions to the dial for operation by temporarily switching the functions
Functions of multiple dials* can be temporarily switched to your assigned functions. This makes it easy to adjust setting values of those functions by turning the dials.
* The following dials can be temporarily switched.
- Control dial
- Control wheel
My Dial Settings
Setting the camera

[My Dial Settings]
MENU → (Camera Settings2) → [My Dial Settings]. Next, assign the desired functions to the dials from (My Dial 1) up to (My Dial 3).

Custom Key
MENU → (Camera Settings2) → [Custom Key]* → select a button used to activate My Dial, and then select a My Dial setting number to recall and a My Dial switching pattern.
* The function can be assigned separately for shooting still images or movies.

Setting examples
To move focusing frames by turning dials, you can set up the dials to move frames vertically and horizontally with these settings.
- Assign [Toggle My Dial 1] to the (C Button) of [Custom Key].
- Set [Move AF Frame : Std] to the control wheel, which is assigned to [My Dial 1] of the [My Dial Settings].
- Set [Move AF Frame : Std] to the control dial, which is assigned to [My Dial 1] of the [My Dial Settings].
If you press the (C Button) in the still image shooting mode, you can recall the functions registered to [My Dial 1].
When you turn the control wheel, you can move the focusing frame up and down, whereas when you turn the control dial, you can move the focusing frame left and right. When you press the (C Button) again, normal function is resumed and the focusing frame will not move even if you turn the dial.
