Focusing frame display

Touching a position on the monitor focuses there. No focusing frame is displayed then, but focus is locked at that position.

Note that touching the monitor does not activate Spot Focus when you select [Zone] and the triangles (up/down/left/right) are displayed on the monitor. To enable Spot Focus, either press the center of the control wheel or start shooting a movie, and then touch a subject on the monitor after the triangles (up/down/left/right) displayed on the monitor disappear.

* To cancel focusing by touch, press the center of the control wheel. In monitor mode, you can also touch the icon in the upper right of the monitor to cancel this function.

Hint

When [Focus Area] is set to [Flexible Spot] or [Expand Flexible Spot], the focusing frame can be moved using touch operations.

AF drive speed

When shooting movies, you can set the speed for focusing on subjects in the focus area in [AF drive speed].

To enable tracking, either press the center of the control wheel or start shooting a movie, and then touch a subject on the monitor after the triangles (up/down/left/right) displayed on the monitor disappear.

* To cancel tracking, touch the icon or press the center of the control wheel.

Tracking is enabled and a subject is in focus

A face detection frame is displayed if you touch a face on the screen when [Face/Eye AF Set.] is set to [On].
